Inversion Therapy
A great way to help with some muscle pain is inversion therapy.
It is used the world over by chiropractors, doctors, massage therapists and other professionals but nowadays is becoming popular for people to have in their homes and use at their leisure.
I have used inversion therapy at home for nearly 5 years after my chiropractor suggested it might help with some of my aches and pains, and I have to say I found it most beneficial.
When your body’s weight is suspended from the ankles, gravity decompresses the joints. It is often advertised as a relief for back pain, and can be good for some cases.
Hanging by your feet in this manner, causes each joint in the body to be loaded in an equal and opposite manner to standing in an identical position of joint alignment.
Inversion therapy is particularly beneficial for the spine in that it relieves pressure on the discs and nerves; in turn this allows the discs to recover lost moisture and to return to their original shape, decreasing the pressure that they exert on nerves. Skeptics suggest that pressure is also relieved when lying down in bed, however while pressure is removed, pressure of tight muscles is not, and with that traction is needed to allow the possible space between the spinal discs to be realized.
