Good posture is number one to maintaining good health. It is just as important as good nutrition, getting enough exercise and sleep and avoiding alcohol, drugs and tobacco. The human body craves good alignment.
Whether you realize it or not, if you have good posture it may be difference between feeling good and healthy and being chronically in pain, tired and unhealthy. Improving your posture gets your body back to its center of balance and improvement in your health.
Good posture is not just about standing up straight, but being aware and connected to every part of your body. Proper alignment supports our weight, reduces physical effort, strain and produces fluid, graceful movement.
Our bones are meant to be stacked on top of one another. If they are out of alignment even you have a good exercise routine damage can occur every time you work out. Poor posture for example causes all the weight of the upper body and head to be supported by the muscles instead of by the spine, as it should be.
Other side effects of poor alignment can cause chronic tense muscles, loss of lung capacity, increased fatigue, reduction in blood and oxygen to the brain, limited range of motion, stiff joints, mental fatigue, decreased productivity and chronic pain syndromes.
Attaining good posture can be accomplished in two ways. The first can be adjusting your workstation, having your car seat adjusted properly or reduction of weight in carrying a purse or backpack.
The second route to realigning your body back to good posture can be through a series of exercises, stretches, adjustments and changes to your physical environment.

If you have searched for this then chances are that you or someone you know already suffers from sciatica and you probably already are aware of what it is and what its causes are. It is painful and will rob many of the activities that they once enjoyed.
The good thing is that there are sciatica treatment methods that you can try. These can help you with easing the pain and can even in some cases make it completely disappear. There are four different natural methods that you can do at home. If you do these regularly you will find that you can again have a normal life.
The first thing that you need to do is make sure that for the first two days you use ice. This helps with the reduction of inflammation around your nerve. It can also help to keep it from actually getting worse. You will want to do this ice treatment for ten minutes and then off for the same amount of time. Keep repeating this cycle for three cycles.
You might not know but there is a muscle that is called a piriformis muscle. The sciatic nerve actually runs through this muscle or on the side of it. If you stretch the piriformis muscle you should be able to ease off the pain quite quickly.
The third treatment method is going to be a pelvis balance. You will find that your pelvis is responsible for keeping everything balanced. If you can balance your pelvis you will find that some of the tension is going to be eased. You will want to lie on your floor. Then you can put a hand under the pelvis on both sides in the area where a belt would be worn. If you feel pressure more on one side than you do on the other then you will find that you are not balanced.
The fourth treatment you will want to use is to make sure that you don’t stop moving. You don’t want to move too quickly but you will want to make sure that you are moving. If you sit for too long your muscles will actually tighten up quicker. As you move the pain should ease some. Therefore, moving is very important.
If you follow these four sciatica treatment methods you will find that in no time you will be feeling better and that you will once again feel like you have control of your life.

If you are one of the millions of Americans suffering from Back Pain, you are not alone and you are probably looking for something to ease the pain. People are looking for new ways to find relief from back pain, ways that are natural and don’t involve medication and drugs.
Doing your research online you’ve probably discovered many solutions that might help. One of the problems is which one to choose. And which one will work for me. One of the best solutions available is a product by Richway called the Amethyst Bio-mat. Now most people have never heard of this product, so you are not alone is wondering why you don’t know about it.
The Amethyst Bio-mat combines three healing principles into one product. This is a state of the art technology that has received the FDA’s approval as a registered medical device. The Bio-mat uses amethyst crystals, about 28 pounds in the professional model which fits on a massage table or single bed, far infra red rays and negative ions. The synergy of these three creates a light technology that reverses degenerative disease cycles and speeds cellular renewal. And for anyone looking for pain relief this is truly a miracle.
You lie down on the Bio-mat and unlike an electric blanket it does not get hot when turned on. Instead it warms your body via the far infra red from the inside out penetrating deep within the muscle tissue. This is what gives you the pain relief, the relaxation of the muscle and connective tissue giving your body the ability to flush out toxic waste from your cells reducing and eliminating pain.
Many people are looking for natural ways to relieve pain and the Bio-mat gives you an option that will relieve pain and also regenerate the cells back to health. The mat is safe and does not give off harmful electromagnetic waves like electric blankets and heating pad do. The control box is a high tech computer system created by Texas Instruments. This is a state of the art technology that works without electric coils or magnets which both are shown to weaken the vitality of cells. The computer system in the control box sends vibratory signals into the amethyst crystal bed creating a very safe and beneficial therapy for back pain relief.
So now you know about this amazing technology that is available to give you pain relief for your aching back.

Although thoracic spine pain is not so common as lumbar pain, it can be a difficult area to treat effectively, especially by yourself, as it isn’t so mobile as the lumbar spine, and there is often rib involvement too. Whatever the cause, Somatic Movement Education’s gentle routines can be a great help in unlocking the causes of thoracic problems and tensions, leaving you pain free in a relatively short time, and leaving you with the knowledge and techniques to dissolve the problem in the future should it arise again.
The causes of thoracic spine pain can be as obvious as some physical trauma to the area, all the way through to subtler causes like shallow breathing, and even the subconscious fear reflex that causes the shoulders to go up and the head to move forward.
A very common cause nowadays is the sedentary lifestyle that many people lead. Sitting in one position for too long with bad posture, in front of a computer, a television, or while driving, can very easily knot up the thoracic area giving that familiar tight feeling in the muscles, and sometimes a very sharp pain on moving that often spreads across to the shoulder blades.
A key area to concentrate on is releasing the muscles at the front of the body as well as the ones at the back, because the muscles at the front have a direct bearing on the thoracic spine, pulling the whole thorax out of alignment. Releasing tight rectus abdominis and trapezius muscles can also help the whole area to unwind and regain a state of relaxation and balance.
Somatic Movement Education is designed to help us recognise and release chronic pain patterns in the body, and a gentle sequence of movements can be chosen for your specific problem which will unwind the holding patterns in all the areas that can affect thoracic pain, giving you a thorough and holistic answer that you can practice in the comfort of your home.
As well as looking at posture and releasing the muscles themselves, comfort in the thoracic area depends on releasing the diaphragm, and a great way to do this is with Somatic Movement Education. It is of great benefit to also learn diaphragm breathing – slower, deeper breaths into the bottom of the lungs allowing the abdomen to move in and out when inhaling and exhaling. This is a far more effective and generally relaxing way of breathing than the shallow, clavicular breathing that so many people use.
Lastly, hydrate! So few people hydrate properly during the day, and that doesn’t mean lots of tea, coffee and soft drinks. All we need is water, so drink two or three litres of clear, pure water every day. The body is 70% water, and the cartilage between joints and discs between vertebrae depend on being hydrated to function properly. The Somatic Movement Education exercises help to draw that water into the discs, so make sure there’s enough water in the body to make this possible, as the exercises will not be as effective without them!
Philip Escott, author of ‘Pure Activity: Eat Better – Exercise Better – Feel Better’, in partnership with Somatic Movement Educator Brian Ingle N.D, D.O., invites you to visit the following link for FREE videos and newsletter and to find out more about how the combination of Ayurvedic diet and exercise and Somatic Movement Education can supercharge your health and fitness… Instant downloads also available of Pure Activity and the amazing 90-minute Somatic Movement Education practice video.
