Since a lot of manual workers have problems with their backs due to excessive stress, exercises for lower back pain can help them a lot if they learn how to do them correctly.
A lot of people don’t understand that a great way for back pain relief is fitness exercises, not taking pills without working at all. If you want another way to fix your problems, lower back exercises can help you get rid of the pain or at least reduce it.
Your pain will disappear faster if you exercise on a regular basis, as this will also improve flexibility and strengthen the muscles. All these benefits contribute to the reduction of chances of an acute back pain attack happening.
There are two components of exercises that can be done for lower back pain. First is the increased flexibility and strength, plus the body conditioning overall. You can get your body in great condition if you do some cardiovascular exercises (biking, walking or swimming) on a regular basis.
Your lower back will also improve if you lose some of the extra weight. In the beginning you should start slow, but in time you should get to 20-40 minutes of exercise in each session, with 3-5 sessions per week.
The second component of these exercises will make your back muscles more powerful and flexible. Besides your lower back, exercises will also improve your other muscles and abdominals.
With exercise you will be able to keep the back of the thigh loose, which decreases the chance of injury.
You should talk with your doctor if you want to do these exercises, to make sure it’s safe for you to do them, and to recommend a specialist that can take care of you.

Looking for home remedies to help with back. I am already seen a chiropractor, and now some of the exercises to follow, but I am looking for a home remedy to help with the pain. OTC NSAID’s aren’t doing the trick, plus don’t want to take them continuosly.
I tried capsicum (hot pepper extract I think) and it works ok. Also tried ICE at night, and heat in AM to get moving.
What other home remedies do you guys suggest?

Do you have lower back pain? You have lots of company – Americans spend approximately $50 billion each year on pain relief for back pain. Lower back pain is one of the most common back ailments – it’s a leading cause of missed work. You don’t have to let the pain control your life. Back exercises can give you increased flexibility and allow you to live pain-free without medication.
Back exercises improve strength of the core muscles, those muscles that support your back, your abdominal muscles, and your legs. This group of muscles is also responsible for your posture. With flexibility programs, you can strengthen those core muscles and eliminate or reduce your lower back pain.
Many exercises improve the strength of core muscles. A regular program of resistance training (e.g., weights), walking, bike riding, swimming and aerobic exercises will strengthen core muscles. But adding flexibility programs, core stability and therapeutic exercises is one way to add even more value to your exercise routine.
The first stage of lower back exercises is to slowly work on building abdominal and core strength. Exercises such as abdominal crunches, pelvic tilts, and leg lifts all help to strengthen the core muscle group. Gradually, you can add more challenging exercises, such as squats to your regimen.
Back exercises are greatly aided with the addition of flexibility programs. Whether you are incorporating some stretching exercises, yoga, or pilates, these exercises help you stretch your muscles. When you stretch your muscles, you actually lengthen them. This helps improve your posture.
Flexibility programs are also great methods for relieving the pain. Stretching exercises help develop flexibility in the spine. Stretching may be one of the most important methods for easing the pain. Simple stretching exercises release some of the tension in lower back muscles. When you release muscle tension, you eliminate the tightness and possible muscles spasms.
Another great option for lower back exercises is to incorporate a Swiss exercise ball, or an inflatable exercise ball, in your routine. Working out with these fitness balls, or simply using them in flexibility programs, helps you develop greater core strength as you try to stabilize yourself on the ball.
Lower back pain doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying your life. When you work to incorporate these exercises into your routine, as well as stretching and flexibility, you enjoy a life with a significant reduction in pain.

My back is sore everyday and stiff. Right now my biggest complain is this spot in between my shoulder blades below my neck on the right side of where that hump thing is. It feels horrible. My other complaint is that the muscles around my ribs seem sore and stuff. Like as if my muscles are hardening or something. Sometimes at night when I start to get settled into bed my back will start cracking by itself, that’s the only time I get relief. I’ve tried everything from hanging my head off my bed, neck rolls, stretches, massagers. Can someone tell me any home remedies or weird or natural things they do to alleviate strange back pain? My friend has been a C7 quad for 35 years. He has severe scoliosis and is also an above the knee double amputee. His doctor would only prescribe hydrocodone and has now decided to send him to Houston TX to a pain management doctor, and will not prescribe anything for pain now. The doc claims that he can’t feel pain because he’s paralyzed, but I’ve tested my friend by making sure he can’t see me and then touching his back…he DOES have sensation all the way down to his tailbone and does feel pain when I press on his lower back…any suggestions???
Scott B: yes, he does say he has pain and I can tell he’s in pain just from watching his face. He’s been paralyzed since he was 17 yrs old and is now 51. He’s never been offered surgery by a doctor, but when I mentioned there are surgical options he refuses to even consider any surgery on his back. Its so bad that his body is in an s shape. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
